OUR CHERNOBYL TOUR GUEST TESTIMONIALS

FAQ

How do I go about visiting Chernobyl and Pripyat?

You need to book a tour with a company like us. It’s impossible to enter the Exclusion zone without a permit while keeping it legal. Make sure to avoid shady illegal tours. As your first step we suggest that you contact us with your questions and we will be happy to assist you with virtually all aspects of your trip to Ukraine.

Is it safe to visit there?

It is now safe to visit Pripyat and Chernobyl. Our groups are led by certified tour guides who take our guests along safe, certified and monitored routs.

Are your tours official?

They absolutely are. We do our tours in direct cooperation with the Chernobyl Exclusion zone administration. Our groups are lead by tour guides certified by the government. They will take you on safe tour routs. Beware of shady, unofficial tours. It’s illegal in Ukraine and legal ramifications are very painful.

Who can visit the Chernobyl-Pripyat Exclusion Zone?

Anyone who is 18 y.o.and over. This tour is not recommended for pregnant women though. Those in really poor health should check with their doctor to see if they will be able to handle this activity. The good news is that although this tour is an outdoor activity you can still spent most of even all day inside our vehicle. If you are handicapped, a light wheelchair is ok with us in most cases – just make sure to double-check with us first. Hearing impaired guests are welcome too. Needles to say that you are expected to adhere to the zone visiting rules set by them.

Do I need to book in advance?

It is an absolute imperative to book your spots in advance. If you do not, you risk to be left with no spot on this tour. There is no such thing as last minute booking on this tour.

How to book a spot on this tour?

Check the tour calendar above. Select a date and see availability. Then complete and send us the booking form. Make sure to select the type of your tour (regular group, small group, semi-private, or private tour) and its duration (1- or more-day tour). It’s also important that you provide your accurate contact details as required in the form. We will get back to you with a confirmation within a few hours or the latest 24 hours.

What kind of group/tour should I join?

It is strongly recommended to avoid large (coach bus) groups. As an alternative you can book a spot on a small-group, semi-private, or even private tour. In terms of the length of your tour, you can chose a day tour or opt for a multi-day tour (2-, 3-, 4-, 5-day tour). Two day tours are pretty popular: you spend one night inside the Zone - hotel is included. So are two meals per day. If you are a photographer, you might want to consider a 3- or more day tour.

How much is a spot?

The tour rate is actually a function of several parameters: the date and day of the week, size of the group you join, guiding language, number of persons in your party, availability of discounts, etc. It’s safe to say that one can get on a tour for under a hundred of dollars. But spots on semi-private and private tours will be more expensive. Anyway, the best way of getting the best deal is to contact us.

How can I pay?

You can prepay/book your spot(s) online or over the phone by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover) or by PayPal. We also offer SEPA bank transfers for the Euro zone and the United Kingdom. You do not have to pay the entire amount upfront. All we need for the starters is a small tour deposit - we are really flexible. The following currencies are accepted: EUR, GBP, USD, PLN, CAD, as well as some other currencies. Book with confidence.

Do I need a valid passport to be able to go on a tour?

Yes, you will need a valid travel passport to be able to first book a spot on this tour and then enter the Exclusion zone identifying yourself with exactly the same passport. Let alone you will need this document to enter Ukraine, in the first place. Good news is that you do not necessarily have to provide your passport details right at the moment of booking. It can be done later on.

Can I take photos or shoot video on this tour?

Yes, absolutely. No special permits are required. Just COME and SHOOT! Anywhere inside the exclusion zone and inside of the ChNPP. Check with us about a drone permit if interested.
